I must vs I get to
Recently, we hosted another Incubator Mastermind retreat where we have some discussions and lessons on how to keep moving forward as business owners. This business ownership journey can be lonely at times, and there’s nothing better than having a supportive group of individuals who are on the same journey as well. Since this was the last retreat of the year, I was able to talk to them about the lessons I’ve learned the past few months and year. These are lessons that I hope that they can learn from to avoid the same mistakes, or at least allow them to bounce back quicker. Along those lessons discussed was a reflection on how to change our perspective during challenging times.
Today, I wanted to share that reflection with you because I know this can be a very stressful time of the year for us. It is the concept of changing from "I must" to "I get to". I’ve had to change my mindset and approach to a lot of different things. Quite often changing my perspective on how I approach different challenges also changed the meaning to it in my brain, which in turn helped me take a deep breath and have a weight lifted off my shoulders. I give examples of this and more so listen to the full episode to hear it all!
